Scratch and Peck Feeds Starter Grit

Starter Grit is perfect for chick-sized beaks. Birds lack that great grind we get with teeth, so they need some mechanism to break down food. Grit in the gizzard is how our feathered friends "chew." The key is matching the correct grit size to the size of your birds. Think Goldilocks, not too big and not too small. Just right.

Ingredients

Insoluble Crushed Quartzite and/or Granite

Feeding Info

Sprinkle Starter Grit directly on feed for the first few days and then offer it in a separate dish, free-choice, for birds to consume as they need.

Birds will self-regulate their grit consumption.
